Common Chicory, Cichorium intybus, is native to the Old World but was introduced to the Americas during the Colonial Era. It now can be found growing wild along roadsides but is also cultivated mostly for its root as a coffee additive or substitute. This specimen was found along the roadside during one of Matteo's runs. • Care Instructions: Remove the pillow cover. Pre-treat the stains with soft cloth or bristle brush that had been soaked in warm soapy water. Machine wash, max 104°F (40°C), normal cycle. Do not bleach, tumble dry on low, do not dry-clean. Iron, steam, or dry low heat only. Fluff to reshape when assembling it back together.
